The Third Weekend
After the second Weekend,
we asked God the question: "What is on your heart for 1998?" As we prayed and
fasted for the third Weekend he gave us the answer to our question, and there
was also a prophetic word - that we would have 59 women at the weekend!
The theme God gave us
was:
- to show mercy
- to have compassion for the hurting
- to seek justice for the
oppressed
taken from: Micah 6:8
"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Bookings were slow coming
in and there seemed to be many spiritual battles and difficulties to overcome
as we made our preparations, but on the Monday before the Weekend, we had the
59th booking!
The Weekend was held on
29 - 31 May 1998 and our quest speaker this year was Marilyn Harry, an
Evangelist from Wales.
The first session on the
Friday evening was taken by Sam Jordan from Lincoln, and she encouraged us to
"Come into the right place before God at the start of the weekend."
Many miracles occurred
during the weekend, the greatest of which was salvation! On the Saturday, a
woman who had been a spiritualist healer for 20 years, asked Jesus into her
life as Lord and Saviour. Her testimony is that she was completely set free at
that moment.
During a testimony time
on the Sunday morning a woman shared that she had never been interested in
coming to a women's weekend before, as she had heard that they were
unproductive and a waste of time. She went on to say she hadn't realised that
when women take time out of their busy lives to focus on God and to sit at his
feet, then he meets them in a powerful and life-changing way.
God lovingly and tenderly
challenges and encourages each woman who comes to the weekends.
