The Ninth
Weekend
"Can I
Really Know the Holy Spirit"
St. Gabriel's Centre, Ditchingham was once again the venue for our Weekend, where 65 women gathered from churches in Norfolk, other parts of East Anglia and even from as far afield as Wales, Dorset and Lancashire. This year we had a guest speaker, Anne Simpson-Phillipson, from Saxmundham in
Suffolk.
Friday evening as always was a good time of settling in, meeting old friends and making new ones, and being challenged by the message from Terrie Thomas, "Be Still and Know that I am God" to get us in the right place to receive all that God had for us over the weekend.
On Saturday morning our hearts were touched by what we heard from Biddy Collyer about the work of Pregnancy Crisis, Norfolk and we were able to give a generous gift to the work of the Norwich Pregnancy Crisis Centre from the love offering taken up on Saturday evening.
Optional seminars were well attended on Saturday afternoon, and these included:
- Worship Workshop
- Getting Back to the Secret Place
- Women in Leadership
- Beauty from Ashes
- Ordinary People and the Holy Spirit
- A Taste of India

The main focus of ministry at the weekend was from Anne and she spoke to us about:
-
Understanding and Knowing the Holy Spirit
-
Understanding and Receiving the Anointing
-
Understanding and Receiving the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
|
Anne is a very anointed speaker, and this was particularly in evidence on Saturday evening when after her message the majority of women stood to receive an anointing. The Holy Spirit used Anne powerfully to minister into people's lives and we were aware of his awesome presence in our midst. Another powerful session took place on the Sunday morning when many women stood in response to Anne's message about recieving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Lord certainly met with us powerfully and showed us that we can really know the Holy Spirit.
Many women on leaving after lunch on Sunday said the weekend had been a tremendous blessing and they were already looking forward to next year!
