The First
Weekend
This was held on 17 - 19
May 1996. God had challenged and encouraged us as we stepped out in faith and a
new ministry was birthed: Women for the Kingdom Weekends.
He had given us a
prophetic word for the weekend:
Micah 2:12-13: "I will surely gather all of
you, O Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will bring
them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in its pasture; the place will
throng with people. One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they
will break through the gate and go out. Their king will pass through before
them, the LORD at their head."
The theme was:
- Women of Prayer
- Women of Purpose
- Women of Power.
Our guest speaker was Liz
Turner from Ichthus Christian Fellowship in London. Liz has a wonderful
teaching ministry, which blessed and encouraged us over the course of the
weekend.
We also held four
optional seminars/workshops on the Saturday afternoon:
- Banner making/flag making
- Drama workshop
- Coping with loss
- Where did the day go?
God moved mightily during
this first weekend, with many women being healed from emotional problems and
others released into different areas of worship and prayer. |
