The Eighth
Weekend
"Where are
the Deborahs and Esthers?
We met again
at St Gabriel's Centre, Ditchingham over the weekend of 17 - 19 October 2003.
64 women
gathered together and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of fellowship, worship and
ministry. Many of the women commented that there was an intimacy amongst us,
giving more opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy fellowship at a
deeper level.
Our times of
worship were precious and there also seemed to be a greater intimacy with the
Lord - we often felt that the Holy Spirit was gently hovering over us during
these times.
Optional
seminars on the Saturday afternoon covered a variety of topics, and
significantly touched the lives of those who attended:
- Moving out in Ministry
- Singleness in the Church
- Women in Leadership
- 'Talitha Cumi' - Project for
Destitute Women in Bangalore, India

The teaching
over the weekend focused on the steps we need to take in order to move out in
the ministries God has for us. The lives of Deborah and Esther were central
figures in the teaching and the sessions were:
- Preparation for Ministry
- Recognising your Ministry
- Functioning in Ministry
- Anointed for Ministry
Our final
session on the Sunday morning included a very special anointing service where
each woman was anointed with oil. This was anointing for service and proved to
be extremely powerful for many women. Many tears were shed as the tangible
presence of the Lord was felt in the room.
The Lord
graciously met with us over the weekend and touched our lives in a new way.
There was a tremendous sense of peace and well-being at the conclusion of our
time together, with many testifying to having been refreshed, encouraged and
empowered to move on, or move out for the first time, in their
ministries.
