THE CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
Daily living involves some hard facts. The work-place must
find a market for its products at competitive prices. The changing requirements
of customers and clients may require that a product be changed or modified, and
where some industries have failed to modernise they lose out to their
competitors. The new technology has brought in the computer and by this some
workers have become redundant. Lack of investment can also threaten businesses,
as can pressure for higher wages or shorter hours at an inopportune time.
