Race Relations...continued
THE NATION AND THE NATIONS
It is significant to read in the book of Revelation
(7) that
the Redeemed who will be in God's presence will have come from every tribe and
tongue and nation. Racial groupings will still be remembered then as they were
at the beginning of the Church in the book of Acts.
(8)
At this particular time known as the Gospel age, God is
calling out His people - the ecclesia - from all over the world and bringing
them into one Holy Nation as recorded in the first letter of Peter
(9) and we
are often asked what language will be spoken in the world to come. Maybe the
book of Zephaniah
(10)
provides a clue. It states "I will turn to the people in a pure language, that
they may all call upon the Name of the Lord".
This had an immediate relevance to those who came from
distant places, but it may well pre-figure the greater and final ingathering,
when, in a new and completely purified language, "praise shall our nobler
powers employ", and in that Kingdom, the redeemed from all nations and races
will love God, serve God and enjoy Him forever.
