DEFINITIONS
Physical abuse includes hitting, shaking, burning, biting,
giving of poisonous substances, suffocation, drowning, or use of excessive
force.
Sexual abuse includes the involvement of dependent, immature
children or adolescents in sexual activity that they do not fully comprehend,
or to which they are not able to give informed consent, or which violate the
social taboos of family roles.
Emotional abuse is enacted by a constant lack of love and
affection, or by verbal attacks such as shouting and taunting etc.
