The Prophetic Responsibility

Messenger boy not the tool by which the word is worked out

It is vital that we do not assume any responsibility that is not given to us clearly by God. The reason that many Christians burn out is that they are trying to be or to do something for which God has not called them.

With the prophetic it is for the Prophet, or as with body ministry the person giving the prophetic word, to lay the word as a gift at the feet of the recipient. It is for the recipient of the gift to choose what to do about the word.

Agabus tried, along with those who heard his word, to Paul to convince him not to travel to Jerusalem. But Paul had heard from the Holy Spirit for himself. He was in the best place to weight the word .

If a word is given to the leadership of a local church, it is for them to weigh the word, unfortunately sometimes the one who utters the prophetic word sometimes tries to impose the word or attempts to gain support for the word amongst the congregation. This is drawing close to rebellion and is a kin to witchcraft. Local Church leadership as the recipient of the word are not only best placed to weigh the word but have the Spiritual Authority to recieve the word on behalf of the church.

Likewise if a prophetic word is give to an individual, it is the individual who is best placed and has divine authority to recieve or reject the word.

The Prophet MUST be in submission to a local church leadership and offer the gift with humility.
