Welcome to the section on Worship, where you will find relevant information on the many different aspects of worship.

Rom 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
Exo 34:14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
The problem with being a Worship Leader is that, just sometimes you can get distracted into thinking that you are it, and what you say goes, to your team. And when things don't go our way, you lose sight of where you are in God and the purposes he has for you. It's at that time we need to stand back and to ask the question, Who are we? And what are we doing?
True worship comes from the relationship we have with the Lord, and is built round the way we live our lives and that then is reflected in our function as Worship Leaders. So if we were to look at our lives, would it be true to say that we are living God centred lives, not focus on the material things but on the Godly.
Yet distraction is one of the most common things that can hinder the anointing of the Worship leader, as he seeks to lead the congregation into the presence of God. And because the Worship leader is in the forefront of moving of the Holy Spirit at work, the enemy will try all manner of things to distract him. The usual way he attacks is on the home front, where he affects relationships with our spouses but also cause something to happen which maybe look quite innocent, like cars going wrong(which is my favourite), a flood in the back garden, which is another favourite of mine.
But in all this we must do as Peter said in 1 Peter 5v9 "Resist him, standing firm in the faith"
We have a God who is jealous of our worship, not that he needs our worship, but in the simple fact that he takes great pleasure from our worship and adoration of his name. But it also benefits us, so that we may express our love and adoration to him, for what he has done in our lives. So we need to stay focused on what and who we are in him, so that we remain standing in faith and trust in God our Saviour.
