Paul until recently was the Worship Leader of the Watton Pentecostal Church, which is part of River Ministries (Norfolk) England. He is also director of Channel Ministries, in which Paul copyrights his songs, administered by CopyCare Hailsham Sussex. He has now moved to Yeovil, Somerset
He became a Christian in 1980 at a Full Gospel Business Men's Dinner in Cambridge and was part of the Methodist Church in Thetford Norfolk, where he learnt to play the guitar and got involved in the youth work, playing in the Good News Group. He then went to work at a Christian Conference Centre called Hildenborough Hall, where he grew as a Worship leader and met many main stream Worship Leaders such as Graham Kendrick, Noel Richards, Dave Bilbrough, and many more who greatly influence Paul growth in Leading Worship.
"That time at Hildenborough Hall was a time of great learning and understanding, of the nature of the God we worship" After leaving Hildenborough Hall, Paul went back to work in secular work, and at the same time got involved in the Downs and Stoneleigh Bible weeks. Leading worship at the Children events, this is were Paul had his song "Jesus here I stand" published and recorded. He was also involved with the Worship team at the Town Church Sevenoaks. .
In 1992 Paul met Jackie at the Stoneleigh Bible week while they working in the Childrens Work and got married in July 1993. At the same time Paul felt that God was calling him back to Norfolk, and so Jackie and Paul moved to Attleborough a week after they got married. During the next six months they join a local fellowship while they found their feet in the area. Paul and Jackie were drawn to the Watton Pentecostal Church through a prohectic word, which they were given on their first visit to the Church. And they have been with the Church ever since because they believe that God called them to the Church. Paul took on the roll of Worship Leader Of the Church in 1999.
Paul's ministry has taken him to India, speaking and leading worship at conferences for Pastors and Gospel meetings as part of the Together For God India mission.
Paul is also so consultant editor for the Worship Well Web site, a site designed to encourage other worship leaders in their ministry. He is also heads up Channel Ministries and produced a CD "God's Perfect Love" the proceeds went to Together for God projects in India.
Steve Bell of Friendship First says "The Watton Peticostal Church worship team ( led by Paul Unsworth) are rare in that they serve the congregation rather than perform. It is always refreshing to come across a group, which does not just sing songs but guides people into the presence of God." . Paul's ministry has been recognised as having a real anointing of God upon it, and his calling to lead worship is not based on musical terms but on his his desire to be in the throne room of the Lord.
Paul is married to Jackie and they have a three year old daughter called Natasha. In October 2004, they felt the Lord calling them to Yeovil in Somerset, to work at The Park School, which is a Christian Foundation School.
Paul is now a part of the Worship Team at Crewkerne Community Church in Somerset and has been invited to speak at a number of events in India in the summer of 2007
