Guideline 7

* Treat all would-be paid staff and volunteers as job applicants for any position involving contact with children.

Church response:
All leaders and helpers will be expected to complete the approved application form before an interview is conducted.

This is a vital area and the church leadership should be pro-active in the decision making process in the appointment of children's/youth workers. Job application forms should be filed together with a copy of the Job Description. The interview can be an opportunity to see if the applicant understands the guidelines within the child protection policy.
